In Kaitie's Words:

I was born and raised in Racine, Wisconsin. I grew up racing my bicycle. I was fortunate enough to have my bicycle take me all over the world and through my collegiate experience. I have a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Sports Marketing. I’ve spent thirteen years racing my bicycle professionally for Cannondale. I’m very passionate about working with young women in the sport of cycling. I live in Colorado Springs, Colorado with my husband, Luke and our two dogs, Lucy and Tilly. I love camping, hiking CO 14ers, reading, Nordic and alpine skiing, riding my bike, and cooking.

What inspired you to become a coach?

What inspired me to become a coach is the opportunity coaching allows to play a role in the athlete’s process. I really enjoy working with people and I have a strong passion for cycling. Helping athletes of all levels achieve their goals is rewarding.

Best tip for a new bike racer?

My best tip for a new bike racer is to keep an open mind. Be willing to try different things as the approach to bike racing is not one size fits all.

Keep sport fun!

Tell us something about yourself that people may not know.

I don’t like coffee.

Favorite words of inspiration:

“To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift.”
—Steve Prefontaine

How can you help a client reach their goal?

I can help a client work towards reaching their goal by being flexible. I strongly believe this is important because there is not one direct path to a specific goal. Life happens and speed bumps occur. It’s important to have an experienced coach that can help you navigate your individual journey toward that goal.
